A
unique opportunity for qualified high school students (grades 10, 11 & 12)
to participate in the Institute's summer college internship program. Participants
will gain valuable insight into the techniques of field study, participate in
the collection of specimens and record and evaluate field data!
In addition,
you will travel side by side with the WI college interns as they conduct research
projects in such areas as beach biology, turtle research, and fish and bird population
studies. At week's end, each participant will present a report based on
an individual study. Be prepared for tough work and lots of fun: rain or shine,
hot or cold, bugs or no bugs!! Intern for a Week is an opportunity for gaining
hands-on experience while getting to know college interns and the scientists with
whom they work. By expanding classroom knowledge, this program offers young
students a basis on which to decide areas of study for a possible college major
as well as career decisions.
Call (609) 368-1211 for more details. Intern
for a Week dates for the summer of 2008 are June 23 - June 27.
